Dorn Smith CEBS FLMI
Dorn is a Partner with DS Consulting Ltd.. His experience spans a period of more than 20 years and includes management roles in the following Human Resource areas in corporations, consulting firms and insurance companies:

On the committee side, Dorn spent many years on the CPBI Alberta Regional Council, the Alberta Employer Committee on Health Care and the Human Resources Association of Calgary seminars committee. As well, he was involved in the CEBS Calgary Advisory Committee (Chairman 1997 – 1999):
Dorn also teaches the employee benefits survey course at the U of C and has taught at Mt Royal College as well.
Sheila Telford M.A, M.I.P.D.
A lifelong HR professional, Sheila started her HR career in the oil industry and spent 10 years with British Petroleum plc.
Her career has encompassed exposure and increasing responsibilities in Human Resources Leadership, compensation, recruitment, training and staff development, compensation and benefits in diverse international environments requiring sensitivity to change and cultural differences. She spent 3 years as Human Resources Manager of British Petroleum plc in Stavanger, Norway. Her last assignment was temporary HR Manager of Shell Chemicals here in Calgary.
She has had a further 8 successful years experience as Human Resources Manager of diverse Companies, ranging from the newspaper industry to professional partnerships.
Sheila speaks fluent French and Spanish and reasonable Norwegian. She has lived in 12 countries in her life. She is a strong communicator and team leader.
Tamara McCarron, BSC, MBA Consultant
With over 8 years experience in the service industry, Tamara has been actively involved in many different aspects of core business, from sales, to strategic planning, to marketing.
Over the past several years, Tamara has held progressively senior positions with not-for-profit, post secondary and private sector organizations. In these positions, she cultivated relationships and formed strategic partnerships with a number of organizations to provide exemplar service and stakeholder satisfaction. As a result, Tamara has had an overall positive effect on her organization’s bottom line. With a passion for technology and communication, Tamara lead an organization through a complete re-branding effort of all communications materials, from the development of a new website to the creation of all advertising and promotional pieces.
An active volunteer, Tamara is President of the University of Calgary Alumni Association and member of the University of Calgary Senate. In recognition of her extensive community work and her excellence in business, Tamara was recognized as one of Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40 in September 2007.
Tamara holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Calgary. In addition, she is completing her CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) designate and plans to expand her consulting services into benefits, organizational effectiveness and assisting organizations as they operate during times of change.
